Alejandra Schraier, MA, LCSW
I later completed a Master's degree at the University of Barcelona. When my path brought me to New York, I earned a Master of Social Work from New York University (NYU) and a postgraduate certificate in adolescent therapy, while continuing my psychoanalytic training.
Over twenty five years of clinical experience in New York, I worked with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life.
I have supported clients navigating a wide range of challenges: relationship difficulties, life transitions, parenting, trauma, complex family dynamics, eating disorders, and questions of gender and professional identity, as well as anxiety and depression.
I dedicate myself exclusively to private practice, working primarily with adolescents and adults at different stages of life - including college students, LGBTQ+ individuals, and expatriates.
Psychodynamic thinking forms the foundation of my work, and in recent years I have expanded my practice to online therapy and to other states, making my work accessible to clients beyond New York.
I am continually humbled by the trust my patients place in me, and grateful for the opportunity it brings to grow both professionally and personally.
